Legal fights leave question marks over ballot access in presidential battleground states

With less than 120 days until some states mail out general election ballots, important voting regulations in nearly every major 2024 battleground remain the subject of legal battles. That means court decisions yet to come could go a long way toward determining the level of Americans’ ballot access.

Transit stakeholders urge Senate to pass funding increase for public transportation

Transit agency officials and lawmakers came together Wednesday to urge the state Senate to support of Gov. Josh Shapiro’s proposal to direct an additional 1.75% of state sales tax revenue to public transportation by emphasizing the statewide impact that it would have.

Casey bill would raise pay for long term care workers

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) introduced legislation, along with Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.), to improve compensation and benefits and support systems for caregivers. The Long-Term Care Workforce Support Act would improve pay for direct care professionals, and put into place strategies to increase the number of care professionals, to reduce the current shortage.
